COMMUNITY GUIDELINES, CODE OF CONDUCT, AND FAIR PLAY POLICY

Welcome to Mattel! We want our Services to be fun, creative, fair, and safe. This Community Guidelines, Code of Conduct, and Fair Play Policy (we’ll call it our “Play Policy”) explains the conduct, fair play, anti-abuse, and safety rules that apply when you use our games, content, apps, websites, platforms, live events, user-generated content, and other services (we refer to these as our “Services”).

This Play Policy works together with the User Agreement at https://mattelsupport.com/mattel-user-agreement, Privacy Policy for under 18: Mattel’s Privacy Notice for Parents, Minors, and Children: https://mattelsupport.com/childrens-privacy-statement/, our Privacy Policy for 18 and over: Mattel Mobile and Game Apps – Privacy Notice: https://mattelsupport.com/mobile-games-apps-privacy-notice/, and any additional Service-specific rules. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the User Agreement.

You agree to follow this Play Policy whenever you access or use the Services. If you do not agree, please do not access or use the Services.

1. What this Play Policy covers

Summary: This Play Policy gives a clear set of conduct and fair-play rules that supplements the User Agreement. This Play Policy provides additional examples of behavior and content that are not allowed on the Services. Some Services, forums, communities, events, or features may also have additional or narrower rules based on the audience, topic, age requirements, or functionality of that Service or feature.

Your use of the Services remains subject to the User Agreement, including any rules about age, parent or legal guardian permissions, Limited Mode, Privacy, AI features, local consumer rights, and Service changes.

If there is a conflict between this Play Policy and the User Agreement, the User Agreement will control.

2. Respect the community

Summary: Do not harass, threaten, hate, exploit, deceive, or expose people. Do not post harmful, sexual, or otherwise inappropriate content.

  • 2.1 Harassment, bullying, and hateful conduct
    • Do not harass, bully, troll, stalk, dogpile, intimidate, or target others.
    • Do not use slurs, hateful symbols, or content that attacks, humiliates, excludes, or threatens people based on protected characteristics or similar status, including race, color, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, age, or other traits protected by law.
    • Do not threaten violence, wish harm on others, or encourage others to harass or attack someone.
  • 2.2 Sexual content, child safety, self-harm, and violent or dangerous content
    • Do not post, request, or share any sexual, sexually suggestive, or intimate content or imagery.
    • We have zero tolerance for content or conduct that exploits, sexualizes, endangers, or threatens minors.
    • Do not promote, glorify, instruct, or normalize suicide, self-harm, eating disorders, dangerous dares, or other conduct that could cause serious harm.
    • Do not post content that depicts extreme or gratuitous violence, gore, torture, or serious injury, except to the limited extent a Service expressly allows game-related content that still complies with this Play Policy and applicable ratings.
  • 2.3 Privacy, impersonation, scams, spam, and commercial misuse
    • Do not share, expose, or threaten to share your own or someone else’s personal information in public spaces or without permission. This includes information that could be used to identify, contact, track, impersonate, or harm someone.
    • Do not use information available through the Services, such as usernames, profiles, or gameplay, to identify or contact a user off-Service without permission.
    • Do not impersonate another user, group, celebrity, company, or Mattel employee or representative.
    • Do not run scams, phishing schemes, fake giveaways, fake support, deceptive links, or other fraud.
    • Do not spam, flood chat, repeatedly message others after they ask you to stop, or use the Services for business purposes, advertising, solicitation, chain letters, pyramid schemes, or other unauthorized commercial activity.
    • Do not post, share, request, or distribute confidential or non-public Mattel information, including information about unreleased products, launches, business strategy, internal communications, or other information that is not publicly available.
  • 2.4 Usernames, profiles, and UGC
    • Do not use usernames, display names, profile text, avatars, images, or other public identifiers that are obscene, hateful, sexually explicit, misleading, infringing, or otherwise violate this Play Policy.
    • Do not include unnecessary personal information in public profiles or public-facing content.
    • If a Service allows user-generated content (“UGC”), you must have the rights and permissions needed to post it, and your content must comply with this Play Policy and the User Agreement.
    • Do not use Mattel names, logos, branding, official community features, or other Mattel intellectual property in a way that falsely suggests affiliation, authorization, sponsorship, or endorsement by Mattel or any Mattel employee, moderator, or representative.
    • Online safety note: People online may not be who they say they are. Use caution when interacting with others.

3. Play fair

Summary: No cheating, bots, exploits, hacking, account abuse, fraud, or attempts to interfere with security or the intended experience.

  • 3.1 Cheating, bots, AI agents, and exploits
    • Do not cheat or help others cheat.
    • Do not use or distribute bots, macros, scripts, AI agents, automation tools, cheats, hacks, trainers, mod menus, or other unauthorized third-party tools.
    • Do not exploit bugs, glitches, unintended mechanics, or undocumented features to gain an advantage, obtain items, bypass restrictions, or alter results.
    • If you discover a bug, exploit, or security issue, report it instead of using, teaching, selling, or sharing it.
  • 3.2 Disruptive play, account abuse, and off-platform trading
    • Do not intentionally disrupt gameplay or the experience of others.
    • Examples include griefing, intentional throwing, collusion, win trading, blocking progress, manipulating rankings, manipulating rewards, or other conduct that unfairly affects play, progression, matches, or live events.
    • Do not buy, sell, rent, share, lend, transfer, or access Accounts, credentials, or recovery methods in unauthorized ways.
    • Do not use compromised Accounts, stolen credentials, or social engineering to obtain access.
    • Do not evade suspensions, bans, or other enforcement by creating new Accounts, using another person’s Account, or otherwise hiding your identity or device.
    • Except where Mattel expressly allows it through in-Service tools, do not buy, sell, transfer, gift, trade, or broker Accounts, Virtual Items, or in-Service currency for real money or anything of value outside the Services.
  • 3.3 Security interference, unauthorized access, and scraping
    • Do not interfere with or attack the Services or any user, device, server, or network.
    • This includes hacking, denial-of-service attacks, malware, credential stuffing, brute force attacks, probing for vulnerabilities, or attempts to bypass authentication, integrity, region, age, or payment controls.
    • Do not use emulators, rooted or jailbroken devices, virtualized environments, or other compromised setups where a Service prohibits them or where they are used to cheat, bypass security, or evade enforcement.
    • Do not scrape, harvest, data mine, bulk download, or otherwise extract data or content from the Services except as Mattel expressly allows.
    • Do not post, send, embed, or distribute links, files, attachments, or other materials that contain malware, illegal software, or malicious code, or that are designed to compromise users, devices, networks, or the Services.
    • Do not use the Services or any content from them that you do not own as input to develop, train, fine-tune, or improve AI systems, including by scraping, harvesting, or bulk downloading.

4. Follow the law and respect rights

Summary: Do not use the Services for illegal, exploitative, or rights-infringing activity.

  • Do not use the Services to plan, promote, threaten, instruct, or commit illegal activity. This includes violence, child exploitation, extortion, blackmail, trafficking in stolen or counterfeit goods, fraud, or unlawful sale of regulated goods or services.
  • Do not post or distribute content that infringes copyrights, trademarks, patents, trade secrets, rights of publicity, privacy rights, or other legal rights.
  • Do not encourage, organize, celebrate, profit from, or help others violate this Play Policy.

5. Moderation, enforcement, and reporting

Summary: We may use human and automated or technical tools to detect abuse, moderate content, and enforce this Play Policy. We do not promise to catch everything.

Moderation

Mattel and/or our vendors may use human review and automated or technical tools to detect and investigate cheating, fraud, security issues, and other violations of this Play Policy. The measures we use may vary by Service. As described in the User Agreement and Privacy Policy, these tools may review or analyze gameplay, Account activity, user reports, content, and device or app integrity signals while you use the Services.

Where a Service offers voice chat, voice communications may also be monitored, captured, recorded, or transcribed for safety, moderation, fraud prevention, and legal compliance, but only where permitted by law and subject to any notice or consent required by law.

Enforcement

To the extent allowed by law, and depending on the seriousness or frequency of the conduct, we may act with or without prior notice. Our actions may include the following:

  • Provide a warning to you;
  • Remove or disable content or UGC;
  • Restrict chat, voice, trading, marketplace, social, or other features;
  • Reset or revoke affected rankings, rewards, Virtual Items, or progression;
  • Suspend, restrict, permanently ban, or terminate your Account or your access to some or all of the Services; and/or
  • Apply device bans or similar technical restrictions in severe cases.

Where appropriate for the relevant Service, we may also restrict related community, membership, marketplace, or purchasing privileges if needed to enforce this Play Policy and protect users, Mattel, or the Services.

We may offer an appeals process for certain enforcement actions via Support. That information will be provided in our communication to you, or you may contact mgs-support@mattel.com and https://mattel.helpshift.com. Include your Account details and any information you want us to consider.

For major enforcement actions (for example, a suspension longer than 24 hours, a permanent ban, removal of UGC, or long-term feature restrictions), we will try to provide information about the action and reason for the action, as well as any appeals process, if any. We may not be able to provide this information if doing so would: (i) violate the law or a lawful request; (ii) compromise safety, security, fraud prevention, or investigations; or (iii) expose enforcement methods in a way that increases abuse.

Additional notice, complaint-handling, or redress rights may apply under local law.

Reporting

If you see behavior or content that may violate this Play Policy, use the reporting or support tools available in the Service or contact Support at mgs-support@mattel.com and https://mattel.helpshift.com.

Please report concerns honestly and in good faith. Do not use reporting, appeals, or support channels to harass others, retaliate, spam, or abuse the process.

Do not use public posts, threads, comments, or other community features to relitigate, challenge, or campaign around specific moderation decisions, infractions, suspensions, bans, or content removals. If you believe a moderation decision was incorrect, please use the applicable Support or appeals process instead.

Depending on the Service, you may be able to mute, block, filter, report, or limit interactions with other users. We encourage you and, where applicable, your parents and legal guardians, to use these tools.

If a situation involves immediate danger or possible criminal conduct, contact local emergency services or law enforcement first.

6. Changes and contact

Summary: We may update this Play Policy as the Services change.

We may update this Play Policy from time to time. When required, we will provide notice in the manner described in the User Agreement.
